Gabrielle, returned from her journey's around the world. Not having a clue on where her husband was. But maybe he was killed for that matter. She hated him very much. Very abusive man. Once she arrived back in paris, she began looking for Lestat. Her only and last child whom she was very close to. When she was walking she seemed confused on where he was at the moment. Gabrielle was Lestat's first fledging. She longed to see him one more time.
